The advertising on Apple.com is campy. This is a complete 180 from the pedestalizing of products in previous launches. Is this a refresher for the product, or is Apple sabotaging iPad’s chances with this out-of-character announcement, a full 6 months out of sync with their annual Special Event?
Yep, they’re just not trying to sell to you. I’d guess they’re after artsy high-schoolers.
It’s a totally non-classical approach. I thought marketers were supposed to target age demographics with disposable income?
Maybe their numbers show they’ve exhausted that market and they want the rich kids to bug their parents now.
Have you been following Apple product announcements for many years? They’ve done things when and however it makes sense. Not saying it makes sense now, but your criticism seems wholly superficial. Pavlovian, even.
Isn’t that exactly what happens with the annual event? Customers DO practically salivate when September draws near.
Like I said, since you haven’t been paying attention to Apple’s events over the years, your notion of what’s “classic”, “traditional” or what is a pattern is skewed. I don’t know what else to add other than that you’re wrong. If you are curious and aren’t lazy like me, please google Apple’s product announcement events.
Engineer from AT&T giving feedback on marketing. Yep.
I think it’s because they are targeting different demographic.
