Theory: Google buys Fitbit because they own Pebble IP

My belief, shared by many, is that the Pebble time is still the best smartwatch ever created. I think Google is going to reinvest in ePaper smartwatch tech, and all the other things Pebble seemed to do better than Fitbit. Basically I think they are buying Pebble. Not Fitbit. Only because after years, I still like my Pebble more than my Fitbit Versa. Completely unsubstantiated opinion, obv. Thoughts? Anyone else think my crazy idea holds any water?

No. FitBit is diversifying itself into device as a service for healthcare. That’s a bigger business opportunity as Healthcare providers can buy in bulk and pay for SAAS.

I used to have a pebble. After it died I never did find a smart watch I felt was worth buying. It's old tech now but the concept still kicks the shit out of anything out there
