I'm applying for positions in the Palo Alto office of Amazon, but the recruiter refused to disclose salary and compensation range info. Is that illegal?
I think it is now in California, isn’t it? Perhaps I misinterpreted the new law or it isn’t in effect yet? Section “(c)”: https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billTextClient.xhtml?bill_id=201720180AB168
Just say you're not interested to pursue until you have a realistic idea about comp. I'd think most recruiters will come around.
What do you mean by 3rd party?
If you know the city, level, and title; you can get a pretty clear idea of the range based on reports all over Blind and other sites.
It's meaningless until you get an offer..
3P recruiters have no clue
No it’s not illegal.
