Thoughts on Samsara ?

What are people's thoughts on Samsara and future potential ? Would you be willing to take a bet on them and join as engineer leaving FANG in hope of their equity value drastically going up in coming years ? Another upside also being greater learnings and growth over there compared to FANG. For context, they are offering the same base pay as FANG. It's the immediate equity returns you miss out on leaving FANG. Yoe 6

Run away. Fast. They're a sketchy company

Curious as well on the details

Crazy politics. Leadership doesn't have clear direction. I have friends who left FAANG and regretted their decision.

The options on offer were very low

Tbh, this company is gonna be next 100B company. ( I have been at Samsara for over 2 years and planning to be here for another 5 atleast ). How many unicorns _only_ have 4 investors ? 1 being Marc Andreessen. We’re here for the long term

Google aklineman Oct 30, 2019

Their business is going to be gobbled up by Uber in no time lol. Wishful thinking about long term

Samsara dLGz04 Oct 30, 2019

Please tell me more about this, whn we raise our next round in 6 months at 10B.

Trololol

What people SV tech bros don’t understand about Samsara is that powering it is an extremely fine tuned sales machine. Something many tech companies take 10 yrs to perfect. On the eng side, we have like half of MIT.

Google aklineman Oct 31, 2019

So do many other companies that hire from Stanford etc. What is your point?

Cisco fvajq Nov 1, 2019

@aklineman above the line about eng being from MIT there is a section on sales that you might have missed but it is very important :)
