Honestly, if I were in a different company hopping within 6 months won’t be an issue. You could easily say I didn’t like the team or work. It’s dicey to say the same when you are at bananazon. People think you are pipped. I don’t like the culture here at the company and operation load due to which my sleep has to suffer. I can’t trade money for health. Thus, I have started looking outside with companies who can match TC and has better culture and focus on employee well being. My hobby on weekend has become sleeping and doing nothing just laying in bed and scrolling YouTube. I feel that I am locked up for an year and I need to take torture/abuse. Any advice and suggestions? I saw one guy who is currently a senior SDE at Instacart with career progression like this: 6 months small startup 6 months at amazon 1 year at Aws 3 months break 7 months at Boomer credit card company Now at Instacart
I wouldn't think twice. Everyone knows Amazon is a sweatshop. Some of the smartest people I work with are very "right brain" and aren't well-suited to high-intensity fast-paced environments / sweatshops like Amazon, Citadel, etc.
Just shit on ShitAzon and move out.. life Is not all about TC .. fak that LeaderSHit principles and get out
Do you OP, but just want to share my experience. At 6 months in at amazon, I was extremely stressed. I began interviewing for other jobs because I felt like amazon was too hard, culture sucks, operational load, etc. Basically the same things you are saying here. The ramping up period is quite daunting. Lot of moving parts and responsibilities. About 8 or 9 months in, I started to hit my stride and things got easier. Now about 16 months in, I am cruising. Collecting about 220k TC and I probably work 25-35 hours a week. Once you get a solid handle on dynamics within your org and how things work, it can be totally manageable. But yeah, those first 6 months or so really feel high pressure so I definitely empathize. YMMV, but just wanted to share my experience.
What? Amazon is the one place that nobody will question if you leave in less than a year. I see so many profiles on LinkedIn of short stints at Amazon.
Are they succeeding at Instacart
Not sure he is 6-7 months into the job . Probably next hop?
