What a shitty list. LinkedIn is a Tier 2? But Uber is a Tier 1? And Salesforce is a Tier 3?

What doesn’t make sense to you? I don’t think my company is tier 1

Uber > LinkedIn > Salesforce. The order is correct

uber is full of ex-google and ex-FB employees (I’m both). definitely deserves to be tier 1

After IPO, yes. Then we'll be comparing apples to apples on TC

    • There is a reason you are ex. Most Ex-Googlers suffer from ego trips so large their egos won't fit in hyperspace, unlike deep thought ....

I don't think tiers make sense..If Microsoft will pay you 50k per year more than Google will you really choose Google over that offer?

No more “if”, the truth is Microsoft is going to pay you 50k less than google.

I would laugh to sleep if one day Microsoft pays only 50k less than Google

Uber shouldn't be tier 1 until it's IPO. It's too hard to compare TC-wise.

Airbnb should be in tier 1. Their offers are the best in the valley right now.

Should I feel bad if I work at a tier 3 company?
    Dec 6, 2018 7
    • You should feel bad TWICE over. You do not work for a Tier-1. You do not EVEN work for a Tier-2. You work at a Tier-3. Hang your head low!

No matter nVidia stocks performed many times better than all of tier 1 companies over the last 2 years, the company will still remain tier 3.

if Microsoft and Amazon are tier 2, Salesforce should be it too. Better culture, WLB and often better pay.

      Hi Salesforce recruiter,

Your TC is pathetic an refreshers are not existing.
      Dec 8, 2018
    • Salesforce rcno01
I am not a recruiter :) and yes, our refreshers could be better, that's the only con with Salesforce.

Our TC is definitely not pathetic though, it's especially good for LMTS and higher, check by yourself and do the needful.

Apple is not tier 1. Uber may be after IPO. Tier 2, I won't include Square or Pinterest or Robinhood - they are all good but not same as say LinkedIn or Airbnb. Reddit, Quora, IBM should not be in this list.

Pinterest lost a lot of its reputation in last couple of years. Robinhood is still super early and small. Definitely promising but can become a nobody in next 5/6 years - who knows

Same for uber (and a bit of airbnb) if you are talking about hiring bar. But I can see them being more stable now.
