There is far too much focus on tiers at Blind.

Which is better? Sweeping the floors at FNG or leading engineering at a place that doesn’t even make your tier list today, but could be on the top of the pack in 10 years?

Let me remind you that Cisco, HP, Intel were all “Tier 0” at one point in time.

Microsoft, Cisco are still cash cows. Many of the other companies on your list, ranked as higher tier, would kill for profits like them. Given these are all for-profit companies you can create another list where Apple is on top. It’s all about the criteria.

  • Amazon higher. Facebook way lower (especially over the two last years)

Facebook is definitely tier 1. Most Amazonians would jump ship to FB if given the chance.

You should split Amazon into AWS and Amazon ( ecommerce alexa and everything else). You can keep AWS where Amazon is, and maybe bring down Amazon a tier lower.

This is stupid. People that rely on tiers like this are kind of pathetic to me. One person's 'Tier 1' is another person's 'Tier 25'.

People who click into tier posts to complain about the stupidity of tier posts are the same people who still get trolled by trump.

Just lol if your still getting your jimmies rustled by tier posts in 2019

People who try to draw an equivalence between a stupid tier post and trump are amusing.

Just lol if you're one of those people.

Google has a lot of bad teams that do nothing interesting or valuable. FB and Netflix way less. As of Amazon, there are lots of peeps that joined Bloomberg from there so it can’t be that good.

Dropbox has strong talents and a high hiring bar. They pay around the same as tier 1s. However their business is questionable. In 2014, their share price was valued at around 19. Today, FIVE YEARS later, they're at 22. That's like a 15% growth in 5 years which is just absolutely pathetic given that fang easily doubled, with a couple of them multiplying way more. And as a startup, it should be way easier to grow than a large tech company.

    • Dropbox is tier 3. Great pay useless product
