TLDR:
Service charges and other "automatically added" charges (especially for large groups) are not "tips" as tips by definition is a voluntary amount decided and given by the customer.
Restaurants are also not legally binded to use this amount to pay employee wages, nor share it with them as tips above their wages. 🤷
So beware of service charges people.
