Tips for Team Matching w/ Google?

Late last week I was approved for hire by the Google hiring committee. Now I have to do team matching. Due to some external/personal developments that I don't want to get into, I'm unfortunately locked into considering only opportunities from a specific office (NYC), and also, I kind of need to accept an offer relatively soon (1 to 1.5 weeks). All this being said, I therefore really need my discussions for team matching to go really well so that I'm not in team matching limbo for an extended period of time. Can anyone provide tips/info on this part of the process? 1. How long does team matching usually take? 2. Anyone know what teams in NYC are hiring and which are worth considering? 3. Is team matching just a series of informal phone calls with hiring managers? Should I be preparing in any way? 4. More generally, how can I best put my foot forward to close the deal and finish the Google process? #teammatching #google

Interested too. My brother passed the on-site and is at team matching phase. Does this mean he has passed “HC”? Kind of confused on this process

IIRC, team matching can be before or after hiring committee. A recruiter may try to find a match to build a stronger packet for the HC. In my case, team matching was slow so the recruiter submitted the packet before a match.

Not sure but make sure you’re on the engineer track. There are differences between some folks that work on internal tooling and others that work on external stuff.

Aren’t internal tools still engineer track?

There’s no longer a difference. Same job ladder

Tbh given how incredibly slow g is 1.5 weeks sounds downright impossible. Maybe 1-1.5 months to offer in hand / join date is more realistic. Hope you have a plan b.
