Going for an onsite interview with Siri team at Apple ? Machine learning Scientist role Any tips on preparing for the interview? TC: 250k
I am sorry for đbut it is so true.
Be confident. Stand your ground. Itâs a stressful environment inside, they are looking for people who wonât âcrackâ Ask a lot of questions.
What kinds of questions to expect?
Technical, behavioral. Besides throwing problems at you to solve. You might also be given hypothetical scenarios where they gauge what kind of cross functional player you are
I must say it is more than leetcode to get into Apple, so focus on behavioral etc
Any papers to review before interviewing? Things Apple is implementing or even better might be missing?
Is it true that hiring is very team specific and you will not get an offwr if one person on the team(interviewer) does not like you
Did you have a similar experience? Or know someone who did?
Someone told me about it,I have never interviewed at Apple
Tough loop. So much will throw you off. Depends on the team. Theyâre looking for people who really fit the team. Not just leetcoders. Canât say leetcode will help you much either. Trivial details can lead to a weak hire. Folks are very opinionated about who they hire. Prepare for problems related to the scope of the team.
Thank you for your inputs. How to understand the scope of the team. Given that this is apple a lot of information is private
You should have derived that from your phone call with the hiring manager or phone screen. You are screened by the team members. Recruiter will be able to tell you the problem space if itâs totally secret. Itâs fair to ask âwhat kind of fundamental challenges will I be working onâ. And plan accordingly.
Any other tips? Thank you to everyone who replied to my question.

We are dicks and are proud of it. Be prepared to be belittled and berated. And our hiring process sucks big time, our recruiters like to string you along on an offer. So please be prepared for the wild ride and I am sorry for all of the above.
Thanks for the heads up. My experience so far has been ok as I have an offer pending to accept and onsite took a while to schedule
