For long term growth what would you choose and why.
Does higher TC lead to more higher TC or does higher titles lead to more higher titles
Will the answer change between management vs IC
Update1: The reason i ask is - I can have different titles (staff engg, principal eng, senior eng) .. but they are not necessarily aligned to higher TC as different companies have different titles. But at the same time, could having a higher title, set you up for long term success because of the responsibilities that come with it. On the contrary, eventually, we work for money, and optimizing higher TC can make sure the money is always trending up.
Update2: Another way to look at it, for a similar TC, would you join at higher band (same level) or early band (higher level)

i have been a tech lead for many years now and currently i have a choice between higher pay and same title (similar scope) vs relatively slightly less pay but higher title (more scope)
Mgmt --> prioritize scope of responsibility which usually comes with title
