Buying before earnings is a gamble unless you know something from the inside. Any reason your looking at TMobile specifically?
Follow the industry pretty close, and I believe they probably increased in number of subs but no idea at what cost
Subs in telecom is net-zero ie if Tmobile gains someone has to lose members. Do you know at whose expense are they growing?
I like the way that you think, though they may be winning kids/teens to their brand that didnt have phones before.
Not enough to convince that earnings are growing based on Kids/teens . They are text/data-loving , number of teens is a good marketing proposition. Assuming teens drive earnings via marketing Snapchat is an example of how this business is doing?
I love t-mobile and they have lofty goals. I just wouldn't mess with the telecom sector for short term gains. Like @persistent stated, it's a zero sum game, so realistically it's a race to the bottom.
If you're trading on technical indicators, news is only one of many. The market is a psychology, so "good" or "bad" news is a highly subjective measure, despite being a key driver. Consider other elements like a long divergence/ convergence of moving average, long stochastics, and relative volume, at minimum.
