Hi everyone,
I'm a Master's student specializing in Machine Learning. I'm more interested in the ML track. I have got a couple of years of experience as an ML engineer. Also, I've published papers at A* (top venues) conferences.
I have an SDE Intern offer from Amazon. My entire resume for the application consisted of ML-related stuff and also during the three video interviews, the behavioral discussion mainly revolved around my ML projects. In the end, when I asked the interviewer whether interns are placed in teams that match their background, he said yes and since I am familiar with ML concepts, I can work on some relevant projects. It wasn't an assurance though.
Having said that, I've been reading a lot online and hearing from some of my friends who interned there that team matching is ABSOLUTELY random, and you could be assigned to a team that has nothing in common with your background/resume. Can anyone shed some light on whether or not this is true?
TIA
