Best LCOL or MCOL city?
I've been doing solutions architecture for a while now but recently I've been noticing that coders make much more. I used to be a software engineer most of my career so now I'm pondering whether to get back to coding. Any thoughts? Anyone else in a similar situation? TC: $250 YoE: 18 Location: NYC
+1
At 18 yoe, even SDEs barely code
One thing is sure solution architect’s job is a dead end.
Why do you think so?
I was in the same situation as you. Didn’t see any career movement mainly because I wasn’t shipping code to production. Now I am at the product side. I do miss tech architecture sometimes. I wish I could stay happy with being a solution architect all my life.
After 10 years of SDE got a job as solution architect. I still think the title is fancy. Is it not a good one?
I don't think it pays as much
Also many people here don’t recommend to join Amazon but I’m really feeling excited to work in AWS. Any good experience with AWS as solution architect much appreciated! 🙏
Yoe.?
