Without gas and with full electric charge, how far can I drive without needing to recharge? What I am thinking is I will use electric version for commute and my office has free electric charging. So basically I will save up on fuel entirely. I will only use gas when I go on long trips. I am seeing if that is possible.. (What I was expecting is that hybrid cars have electric range of 70-80 miles and then the gas kicks in. That way city driving is sorted on free electric charge in the office. But does not look like my assumption of range is correct.) Toyota Corolla Camry Prius
I have a Prius. You’ll get 2-5 miles
Prius prime is the plug-in hybrid. It has a larger battery than the plain Prius
Why do you want to know how far these cars will drive on a full battery before the engine kicks in?

Fuel goes bad in a matter of months. So you'll have to keep that in mind or you can ruin the fuel system.
I have a Honda clarity plugin hybrid. Gets full 7.5k rebate and goes ~40-50 miles on full electric. Can charge to full overnight via regular electric outlet. The Toyota Prius prime has smaller trunk space b/c battery and only goes ~25 miles on electric. Hence I went through the clarity
How is the reliability on the clarity? Any problems your first year?
Only had it for less than half a year. I say the build itself is decent. Was rear ended earlier by a BMW in a stop and go and it only caused a minor dent in the bumper. Take some time to get used to tho cuz I came from a Prius which was smaller and had blind spot sensors. The clarity only has right turn video feed which is good for looking out for bikers. I heard that the car is clunky when you have empty battery so I never use up the entire battery on a trip. Trunk space MUCH bigger than the Prius prime. Given it’s a bigger car, it seems to be more stable?
Older gen Prius plug in gets 10 to 14 miles. (2012 to 2016) model. Latest Prius prime gets like 25 to 30. So only works if your commute is short.
The Clarity Plug in is the answer. But how has no one suggested a CPO/New Chevy Volt? The one that started it all! Has more EV range than Clarity

Just buy a Tesla. Like I don’t get this hybrid crap, either commit fully to gas or electric.
Tesla too expensive... Hybrid feels like best of two worlds. For everyday commute, use electric. For long trip, gas.
Tesla is more upfront but is generally the same as your list longterm after tax rebate and gas savings etc... I’m talking about model 3 of course. I think you should Turo one for a week and try to see what it’s like. New v3 supercharger charges at 1000+ miles an hour, lots of them already in permit stage today. But yeah stopping every 280ish miles for 30min can be a little annoying
