How do you guys track your overall portfolio. I mean is there an app/service which gives you a consolidated view of your assets and liabilities.

I use personal capital to which I have linked all my bank accounts, trading accounts and loan accounts.
Wondering if there are any other good and reliable services out there.

  • I use Google sheets. It's one time set up with little maintenance as I add positions to my portfolio.
It's awesome given that I have added custom Google scripts to do additional processing.
I did this as I didn't want to link ask my financial accounts to a third party.

You track all your trades on sheets? Such as buy and sell? How do you know when a stock you own qualifies for long term capital gains

    • I am not a trader but an investor. I don't sell often and if I do then I would carefully analyze why am I selling.
So I don't need cost basis or purchase date of my positions.
If I intend to sell then I would refer to my brokerage account.

Schwab and wealthfront both support linking external accounts. Works well enough for me

Have tried wealthfront but did not like it much. I prefer personal capital as it shows the numbers over time. Got to try Schwab. Is it free ?
