Trading window closed but quitting? Can I sell?

I’m leaving Salesforce in a couple of days and have a considerable amount of CRM stock. Once I’ve quit will I be able to cash in my stocks immediately? The trading window is currently closed but I want to buy a house in the next couple of months and need those funds.

I don’t think your platform will allow you to trade unless you have transferred out.

What do you mean by transferred out?

Stock transfer . You can move stocks from one agent to other to avoid tax related to selling and buying .

You'll be able to sell vested stock in a day or so after your last day.

Even if you can trade, you expose yourself to the SEC taking an interest in you. You have material nonpublic information. You should wait at least until the next open trading window.

I don't know about particulars at Salesforce, but the insider trading policy at Lyft does include some text about requesting an exception to sell stock outside the normal trading window for exceptional reasons (I don't know if your situation applies but it can't hurt to inquire about that).
