Im writing this in hopes that someone will read, relate and assist me on my journey into tech - advice, referral or just a simple come from base of understanding. I have revamped my resume that tells the story of my creative experience in the marketing, account management and sales totaling 8YOE. My source for job search has been Linkedln but haven’t had much luck with them as of yet. I’ve had great feedback for my resume thus far. Reading a few forums I have noticed that the best way to get into tech is through employee referrals or references. Any guidance or advice? I’m willing to try all outlets.
So your resume has 8YOE in marketing and other things - is there anything on it that indicates you can build software?
No, I haven’t built any software. I’ve managed CRMs and website updates.
What do you think is the best way for them to show they can build software? Maybe say what online courses they took and/or link to personal projects on github? I'm not sure the best way because I took the college route.
