Have/are people traveling to new york in the current situation with coronavirus?

what are your experiences in the city and in the airports?

I have a trip that im not sure if i need to cancel yet.

    Everything running normal is actually the most scary part. If I were you I would not go to Seattle, New York City or Bay Area these days.

    The next two weeks of NYC will remain somewhat normal. But soon after the number of cases will explode. Schools will be canceled. Most meet up events will be canceled.

    People will be extremely anxious. If you are young and won't interact with anyone elderly when you return, and it's within the next two weeks. Go for it.

  • flew in to jfk terminal 5 (arrived at 6am today) and while not empty it wasnt as poppin as usual. people gave me some disgusted stares because of my mask. I was able to maintain 6 foot distance from everyone and wipe everything down with lysol before touching. i think I'm safe

    ny is not panic mode like the bay area, but it will be in a week or so, is my guess.

    From what I hear JFK has continued to be lax with health monitoring. With international travelers from Italy and other heavily affected countries still filtering through unscreened.
    I would recommend flying into LGA (mostly domestic/NA).

    I left NYC for MIA last Sunday, and there was no health check anywhere in Terminal 5 (JetBlue). I avoided flying back at the end of last week because I need to be back in Miami later this week anyway.
    Working remotely down here until the project wraps up in about a week or two.
