Hello Blind, I’m on my F1 OPT currently, which expires some time in 2020. I plan to apply for my H1 in April 2020. I will be making a Change of Status H1 application since I want to avail of the Cap Gap. I have heard that there might be a rule that one should not travel internationally 90 days before the H1 application date if applying Change of Status. Is there any truth to this? Soliciting comments only from people who have a good understanding of the above terms, and hopefully those who might have themselves been on a similar visa status in the past. Would be especially helpful to hear from people who: 1. Applied Change of Status after Dec 2017, 2. Happened to travel internationally 90 days before CoS H1 application, and 3. Successfully received H1 post that For the record, TC: 210k, YoE: 0.5y
1. Nope. 2. No way. 3. Not happening. Yet ...
I'm also under a similar situation right now. I'm certainly travelling though. I have seen a lot of people who did travel during this period and there was no issue for them with the H1B application. Don't know if that's always the case.
