Currently in H1B, needs stamping. Planning on a weekend to Canada using the contiguous territory rule so that I don't have to get stamping. Couple of questions. 1 - what's your experience with this? 2- what documents should i carry other than 797, passport? https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/visa-expiration-date/auto-revalidate.html Thanks.
Tell the lawyers about your plan and ask them what you should bring. I would assume you want to carry ALL the documents you used to support you original application in case you encounter any bullshit, so you have any requested document in hand, but the lawyers should tell you. 99% you won't need it but in the 1 percent case you will be glad you had it. Don't volunteer any of it unless asked obviously.
Is it really worth the trip given current USCIS’s arbitrary rule making / enforcement? Just get it stamped (either in CA or wherever you’re from)
Valid question. That's why I asked about #1. But, I'm pretty fed up on being just stuck here and not able to travel. I somewhat gave up on it. So, if I get into trouble because of external factors, so be it. I'll just try to make it as smooth as possible from my side.
So did you used automatic revalidation?
How was your experience op?
Hello folks! My h1B is expired but have valid i797 approved... Expired h1B is from company A while valid i797 from company B..do i still qualify for automatic revalidation?
Carry your total compensation document.
