In the last few months Turo has significantly cut back its support for hosts, most recently cutting fees paid to them from 75% to 70%. Today they have amended their terms of service to disallow hosts from listing their cars on competing services. This is a clear violation of anti trust rules. Are they imploding? WTF is going on over there?
They must be doing ok. Just announced $250M investment from IAC. https://techcrunch.com/2019/07/17/peer-to-peer-car-sharing-marketplace-turo-raises-250m-at-over-1b-valuation-from-iac/
Not imploding, but trying to “tighten their belts” a bit. Turo has an unfortunate short sightedness when it comes to policy changes. There will be a flurry of changes and individually they make sense and can be justified but collectively they add up. There are people who fight hard for hosts and we are working tirelessly to continue to advocate but some battles we lose. Please be patient. Good things will come.
