If Trump promises to solve SF homelessness, would you vote for him? I voted Clinton/Pelosi in past elections. I’ve just seen this city descend into craziness, banning straws but allowing needles. I’m willing to back the federal government if they step in where the city and state have failed us.

    • @72PO I believe they want to do it. But it's hard to pass new legislation with Mitch killing every house bill before it gets to the Senate floor, and without 60 votes in the Senate. Republicans have a much easier road in one sense because they don't want to pass new laws. They want government to look ineffective so they can justify making it smaller (except for the military for some reason). They can accomplish this even with a Senate minority and a Democrat in the white house. Democrats need much more than a Senate majority and a president in order to deliver on any of their promises, so they end up just looking like promise breakers.

    Homelessness isn’t one problem - it arises out of a variety of issues and a bone headed idiot like Trump will never understand that nuance.

    My guess is he’d just round up all the homeless and throw them in prison if you let him.

    Of course not. Trump doesn't understand anything, and will never be able to solve a single problem, especially one as nuanced as homelessness. Once Trump's tax returns are released, the incels that support him will realize he's worth less than he inherited, and hopefully his support base will collapse.
