    When you say transition to tech have you considered options on what area?

    As you're an analytics PM, I suggest a small pivot to areas like data analyst, data mining, or data visualization as such. In this case, you would simply grow in your career path vs taking a pay cut and starting from scratch.

    I'm currently working at a startup and our analytics/data PMs are well capable of writing complex sql queries and use BI tools so I wouldn't be surprised if they transitioned to solutions engineer.

    In short, try making a small pivot unless you have identified an area that you really like to work towards. And perhaps find mentors in those area who would be able to help guide you.
