Pray for folks at Tesla
I just received an informal offer from my Twitter Recruiter today, but it seems that the team isn't the right fit for me. (I didn't want to write primarily Python.) How hard would it be to switch teams before I join but after I've completed the interview process? How hard is it to switch once I've joined? Current TC: 200k New TC: 250k #twitter
How long did they take to get back to you?
Is this for SWE 2?
From what I've heard, you can go through a team matching process if your recruiter is up for it. Internal moves should also be a fairly lightweight process. (Never worked there - know people who did)
How was the interview? Leetcode tags?
I wouldn't know, I've never done LeetCode. Pretty easy I guess?
in FB and never done leetcode? nice
Also curious, how does this offer compare to SWE II TC range? How much higher can the band go before SWE III range?
Levels.fyi should have this number for you
Op tell us a bit about the interviews?
One tech screen, One behavioural screen with manager, one on-site (includes 1 technical interview, 1 system design, and a behavioural interview). After receiving the informal offer, you can talk to your would-be manager more closely about what projects are available for you to work on, estimated timelines, etc.
Thanks, was tech screen and tech interview mostly one coding and each? How do you suggest prep for sys design?
OP: what’s your years of experience and where did you buy a house ?
New grad, graduated in Summer 2019. Started @ Facebook EOY 2019. Closed on a house in Seattle in 2021.
It took me a decade to reach that TC of yours. And I’m still a tidy bit short of it. Congratulations to you. You’ll do well !! Would you mind sharing the type of Questions you were asked ?
We have a pretty solid culture of branching out and interviewing for other teams internally, so you’re not stuck in your role forever
agreed
Yeah. I imagine you'd want to stick with them for 6 months or a year or something. If that's a deal breaker, talk to them now about finding a different team.
Whats the offer breakdown? Does it include target bonus?
Is this in the ads team in Austin ?
No
