Some of the appeal of twitter is benefits and remote work flexibility. This Elon drama is putting into question the future of benefits and equity. Offer: $195k base 20% of salary as bonus $133k in stock each year Total: 366k YoE: 8
Sign on ?
Initial offer has none. I have a competing offer so I'm confident I can secure a sign-on but I'm still waiting to initiate the counter offer
Same boat, but look at news today. Elon is close to win, so shit
Got a similar offer. Having similar questions in my mind too
How was your phone interview?
Why is Twitter still giving out offers at this stage? No hiring freeze?
That offer is lower than I’d expect, unless your in LCOL. It’s not unreasonable but I feel like I’ve seen offers on here that we’re closer to 400
Not LCOL. Maybe I don't interview so well? 😅 Levels.fyi data is incomplete but it looks above 75th percentile. How reliable are refreshers? Recruiter mentioned YoY refreshers would mean about 35k more TC per year, or about 100k more in year 4 than year 1. Does that sound reasonable or is that hot air? Definitely not how it would work at Amazon
I only joined last year so no refreshers for me yet but my recruiter told me they were $125k (I’m senior). Other people here sometimes say it’s 25ish% of your initial grant. Maybe somebody else with more experience will chime in. And like I said, your offer isn’t bad at all, I was just under the assumption they were offering closer to 400 now, but it probably depends on a lot of factors.
Damn, I just got a verbal offer but now I’m wondering if that will get pulled
Damn Did on-site last week.
The vibe I got was that this would have zero effect on offers. But if Elon takes over, I don’t know if I even want it anymore
This is a good offer for senior swe, not sure what the person above is talking about. You should be able to get a sign on for up to 30k (maybe 35k, and maybe they’ve been giving higher sign ons in 2022, idk). If you do get a strong competing offer, you can get negotiate too. As for the Elon drama, that’s really a personal decision you have to make. Personally if he takes over, I don’t foresee wide scale layoffs, and I don’t see a future where people are forced to work full time from the office. You can’t put the toothpaste back in the tube.
Did they ask lc? Thanks
Was not really LC. One was easy "debug this", another one was a problem that dealt with (basic) probability, mapping the problem input to use the language's .random() function. I didn't study that specifically but it was a fun question. Interviewers gave me the built-ins for reference. I nailed it but had a bug and debugging it aloud gave them some signal. Overall I liked the interview :)
Thank you. What about phone screen, did they ask lc at all.?

What kind of tech stack do y’all use over there? React front end? Node back end? AWS?
I believe Pinterest uses python and elixir for backend services.
