Twitter showing some backbone today
I've talked a lot of shit about Twitter and how they run their platform, but I'm very impressed by what they're doing here. Note that summons not only demands information the government has no claim to, citing statutory authority that it would be generous to call questionable, but it even demands that Twitter not disclose the existence of the request indefinitely.
Twitter pals, if you're happy to be in the news like this and know of an avenue to do so, please express that to your management.
Summary, which appears solid to my eyes and includes a copy of the request Twitter received:

For those that don't know, yes we actually employ savage trash that preach wife beating at their local mosques...

A true authoritarian government will never get checked by a corporation anyway. Whether some user gets unmasked or not is only relevant so long as liberty is there. As a country we are quickly dumping that down the drain with speech suppression and safe zones. When we really get stomped by the corrupt government, Twitter isn't going to do shit.
Also I don't see how you think I'm yelling at you over the Internet... If you don't want to talk that's fine but no need to act that way. I saw that you said you support firing Wassim as most people do. That's cool
Since you brought it up, I don't agree with Trump bombing Syria but this was more of a minor statement or show than anything else. I wish we would just stay out of the middle east, those people aren't worth our money or lives. I'm shocked that Trump did this, his approach to avoiding war was solid, I don't think we will see much more action beyond these strikes tonight.
