I currently work at Google for a strategy role and had 5 years PM experience before Google in various industries (not big tech though) YOE - 8. YOE as PM - 5. TC is 270k. Recently looking for PM opportunities outside, mainly in fintech. Got reached by a recruiter about PM roles at Two Sigma and had a few interviews with them. I didn't know much about Two Sigma or hedge fund industry but really like the people I talked with at Two Sigma. In the long run I still want to work for a tech company where users are mainly external (vs an internal product whose users are modelers / quants) Two questions I want to ask PMs at Two Sigma is: 1. How's your experience at Two Sigma being evaluated when talking with external opportunities? How much are these valued? 2. I found out most PMs at Two Sigma stayed really long time at the firm - is it because the pay / WLB is so worthwhile that they don't want to leave? Or it's their experience doesn't match with what pure tech expects? #twosigma #productmanager #pm
Following as I’m also interviewing for PM roles there
2s has products for external users as well.
Even if that were the case, do you think that is the team that's driving revenue ? Do you think that team is an area where the company is investing in.
I think so…
What's your longer term goal, op? If it's pm at faang - 2s prob not the place that will get you there
Why not?
Hi Op, did you move forward with the process? How was it? Any updates?
TC or GTFO
Added TC - sorry it's my first post.
If you want to build your career as a PM work for product companies. You'll likely be working on internal products at two sigma since they are not a product company.
