What is the total compensation at math works? I heard they pay a little low. Is this true?

They are a private company and offer target bonuses every quarter, so factor that in while considering. They also are located in an area where cost of living is low . So more cash in hand compared to other companies
Is it really that low cost of living? The towns around mathworks are pretty expensive.
Relatively cheaper compared to Boston
MW is ok if you are just starting out or toward the end of your career. Otherwise career progress is crazy slow and comp is too. As much as they say the bonus is affected by your rating, it isn't. I only noticed a significant boost after leveling up. Plan on first 4-5 yrs bonus being an extra 8 to 10%. That said, it is a pretty great place to work in terms of work life balance, problems being worked on, and office space (everyone gets a private office).
Can I please get a referral?
Total comp for what position? MathWorks will say they don’t negotiate but if you stay strong they will throw all sorts of incentives. High performers get compensated very well. It just takes about 2 years to prove your worth. 1st year is a wash since you spend 1/3 year in trainings.
Software engineer base 90 -110k + variable annual bonus 4-10k depending on rating and company profits. Senior software engineers 115k - 130k + variable bonus, not sure exactly but around 8-15k
I have also noticed a gender-based pay gap - same position- same background Guy was offered 95k, girl was offered 90k
Not true. It really depends on performance , how you negotiate and what other offers you have. Stop crying gender pay gap.
Pay is low. Cost of living is high.
