Give me a break. These days my company would hand a job to dev half my caliber if they met diversity criteria. I live by my own morales (Im an ethical person) and a corporation can fuck themselves. Id never do insider trading.
At Qualcomm, policy prohibits all trading in derivatives of the company stock, including all market traded options. Most companies will have a similar policy. It’s not that it’s illegal, it’s just suspicious.

Imagine that you buy some calls on your company stock and it pops 10% a few days later. Normally, you’d be thrilled, but this is actually the kind of thing that can get you in a lot of trouble, and by extension, get your company in a lot of trouble. You can expect your company’s legal department to be less than thrilled at your faith in the stock price.
I think if you are one of these big whale, like executive that has tons of stock then they do not like that.. otherwise if it is just a small amount why would that matter?
