Still support orange? https://www.cnn.com/travel/amp/us-citizens-need-visas-to-visit-europe-in-2021/index.html
Doesn't actually seem like much of a burden. You'll probably just put your details into a website and pay a small fee.
Still, it feels like the US passport would become “weaker” than before
Yeah it’s a super easy process on both sides. That’s basically the process for US visas now
That sounds real good for Europe’s economy.
Since Europe can’t grow its economy it’s just looking to tax the US I.e GDPR, small visa fees etc.
€7 per tourist? Lol no That's basically a bridge toll amount, but covers the basic background check instead
I'm not sure where you're getting this strange idea that the EU economy isn't growing. You probably just convinced yourself it must be true because you disagree with their politics.
Sounds similar to what US already requires for Europeans coming to visit. Seems reasonable EU finally fighting back with same "security" measures
Sensationalist article with misleading if not outright incorrect headline ETIAS is a basic check against high risk individual databases for warrants, terrorist activity, etc. Will cost €7, be done online, and in most cases complete in minutes. If flagged for anything, decision within four weeks, but then you have bigger things to take care of than your euro trip anyway. Applies to all countries outside the EU proper which don't need a visa, likely including even the UK (as explained on the ETIAS website)
Kinda sounds like ESTA, what US requires all EU citizens (without other visa) to apply for before coming to US. Except looks like ESTA is $14.
lol. American passport is on its way down.
Time to abandon US passport and get a Singapore one.
Wouldn't help with your trips to Europe though, would still have to do the same ETIAS application before traveling to schengen countries... https://www.etiasvisa.com/etias-requirements
So Europe basically requires visa for all non EU countries?
There's almost an argument for continent-based grouping for visas, resources, etc. That would eliminate more than half of the world's conflicts and political agendas.
Why limit it to continents, how about the whole world. Like one giant country with no borders...
Sure, someday, why not? We need to figure out who's gonna be the king or the queen then! ☺️ Remember when the sun never set on the British Empire?
Not even an issue.
Read the article, this isn’t related to trump. It’s a reciprocity thing related to the fact that the US requires visas from the poorer EU member states.

US has had a similar system in place for Europeans coming to visit US since long before Trump though
