I'm currently comparing two offers: one to the US (Michigan) and another to Amsterdam, Netherlands. I have more than 10 YOE in software development and I'm thinking about a permanent move but it is really hard to decide where to reside. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.
Which Country are you coming from? If India or China.. well it will be hard to get a green card ... years of uncertainty
No, neither of them
Netherlands
Bland and xenophobic people.
I’m a minority and have been to Netherlands over 10 times. The Dutch show the same level of respect as Americans. Maybe you’re just fugly #sorrynotsorry
Amsterdam if you have the money is one of the best cities in the world to live in whether you are single or with a family
Netherlands 🇳🇱
If you are looking to optimize for future opportunities then US . Else Netherlands
I’ve lived in both; dm me.
Why would you move to Netherlands if you are in Tech? In US more opportunities. The entire Netherlands is boring like hell. If you are into weeds, go for Amsterdam. ^^ Jokes apart, my friends living in Netherlands say that it’s hard to get integrated in Dutch society.
Could you name a country that's not hard to integrate in? It's always hard.
India as long as you got white skin lol
AMSTERDAM BRUH! Michigan is a pile of dog poo by comparison.
Netherlands top tax bracket starts at 68.5k at 52%.
Maybe but capital gains allowances are huge and someone hired from outside the Netherlands would benefit from the 30% ruling
In a recent Oxfam report, the Netherlands ranked as the healthiest country in the world for diet, just above France and Switzerland, with respect to having the most plentiful, nutritious, healthy and affordable food among 125 countries.
Depends on the company, family or single, long term goals...
