Asking about vacation policies during interview

As someone who likes who likes to travel, PTO policy is something thats very important to me. I'm willing to take an offer that is considerably lower in TC if it has much better vacation policy than the rest.

I did switch companies once, from Walmart to my current startup, but I already knew my current company was very generous with PTO even before I applied. My friend referred me here and he told me of all the perks beforehand. We have unlimited PTO and our boss would easily grant us 4 to 6 weeks off a year. Unfortunately, he left and now my new boss is the complete opposite, which is why I am looking to move.

How should I go about asking about the PTO policy? Ideally, I want to ask as early as possible during the interview so I dont waste time later on. But I also dont want to give a bad impression if I ask too early
