Had an onsite at Uber ATG about a week ago. The recruiter emailed me the day after the interview asking to schedule a time for a call, but never got back to me after I replied with my availability. Should I assume it was a reject? Does Uber ATG usually ghost candidates after onsites?
If you want to work at Uber. Work at core Uber. ATG has been going through a lot of turmoil in the past year. Not done yet. Not clear how it shakes out.
Do you actually work at ATG? If not, please don't spread shit. ATG is still one of the best place to be if you want to be at uber. Great work and super smart people. There is no turmoil here and everyone is focused on their work. If you don't like it you can always transfer out really easily. But trust me, you won't want to.
Dear UberIsBest, Do you think there are any signs that you may be somewhat biased? Is this your first job? I suspect I am substantially senior to you and know a lot more than you about what is really going on.
Usually they don’t schedule a call unless it’s a hire I’d follow up
If the recruiter scheduled a call it's most likely a yes. Email the recruiter again it's weird that he forgot
Do you want a job at ATG or not? Your job is to be proactive on a job search. Don’t sit around and wait for a recruiter to get back to you. Recruiters are also screening other candidates. The world doesn’t revolve around just you.
If it’s been a week and no convo with recruiter it’s a reject. They’re super understaffed and unfortunately causes them to not be able to follow up all the time. It sucks from a experience perspective but it’s where we are right now. Keep yo chin up
Thanks everyone for the responses. Spoke to the recruiter on the phone today and it ended up being a reject, so looks like ATG will schedule calls for both good and bad news.
How was your assessment of the interviews? Were you expecting an offer?
Interview outcomes are somewhat arbitrary. Many much better companies out there. Good luck! 🍀
Care to share any insight form the interview?
ATG has been growing like mad and they’ve been a flakey in keeping up with things. It’s not cool, but, do hammer on the recruiter. One thing that speeds up these processes is having competing offers. If you don’t have one yet, you can still say “I’m interviewing at a few other places and I’d like to wrap up this process by X” to give them a deadline
Just assume it was unprofessional recruiter
