I’m considering an offer from this team. Can anyone share anything they know about the team, such as WLB, culture, tech quality? Or whether it’s generally a good place to work?

that’s a good L4 offer. likely 4 or fewer YoE

and that TC isn’t including the annual cash bonus or equity refresher (no cliff)

Yeah it seems good compared to other data I could find. I’m still going to try to negotiate up the equity. 4 YOE

I'm an engineer on the courier team.

The work-life-balance is good. People rarely stay past 6pm (AFAIK). As long as you get your work done (well) and are available during core hours you can excel here.

The culture is nice. Friendly and open environment. The team is pretty young (a lot of engineers in their 20's and 30's), but definitely not bro-y. No politics as someone else mentioned. I'd love to get to know my teammates more after-hours, but people are busy with their own lives and that's cool too.

The tech-quality is good as well, and I think that is true for most of Eats. Uber Rides is older/messier and I would not want to work there, but the tech around Eats is streamlined and fun to work on.

Team is solid. I’m non-tech but work with some of the leads. Can’t say too much about WLB but they work closely with rides driver team which helps share responsibility. There’s a ton of work to do on that side, so you’ll be able to make immediate impact

I’m an engineer on the team, the WLB is good. The team is pretty new (it used to be based out of New York), but there’s a good culture and everyone gets along, lots of teamwork and collaboration, no politics. We frequently work on features for both drivers and couriers, so the tech quality has to be high and as the other commenter mentioned, it’s high impact. Let me know if you have any other questions or want me to dive deeper into any specific area 😄
