I don’t know what’s going on with uber. Currently senior engineer at google. (Ignore my company setting) Uber is expecting me join with a big pay cut. Instead of actually working on the numbers to make it competitive. They just send multiple directors talking to me and trying to convince me. Is this the standard process? I feel like it’s such a waste of time. Do they seriously believe people will take a pay cut to join a company especially after all the drama last year! Plus no 401k Match. You have to pay for your health insurance. ***From HR. Apparently uber has a new comp policies that everyone in the company should receive very similar pay. The bands are very tight and the performance only matter to a very small extent. Way to go Uber.
Oh hell no
Happy to talk to you over DM and offer some advice, if you’re interested.
Is it a pay cut in the base salary, or the total package?
Total package.
So what are they selling? Greatest company in world or future stock value?
Pretty much. Exciting product and stock is gonna blow up when ipo.
Can you share your current compensation and what Uber is offering?
That is a bad deal
Not worth it...
Standard recruitment BS, don't fall for it. Stay put at Google.
Don’t take pay cut. It doesn’t worth it.
