Early entrant with big brand, Lot of small competitors in different region with their name and marketing . This is going to be connecting shipping yards , manufacturing units etc across the world ... I can see other big names getting into this . Amazon solves some of this upside down . However it’s a massive 5 trillion dollar market - logistics
Hasn't the logistics industry technically been around for at least a century in some form or another? Or are you just referring to them being an early entrant to the "indie trucker to supplier" market, which makes more sense to me. It would seem that the claim being made in the video is that tech adoption in the industry has been slower, and Uber is brining the adoption. If so, then what have other logistics companies been doing during the trucker shortages? Not developing tech or keeping it private or limited to their circle of drivers? Just curious as someone not in the logistics industry.
That’s correct. Uber is bringing world class tech into the space, which has been slow to connect.
I'm gunna make Uber great
pre-ipo hype
Awesome. Uberize tracking
Has anyone on this thread ever booked a truck? Terrible process, very frustrating. Uber is a godsend for trucking and logistics.
Superior to Convoy?
It might be ubers gmail
Or Google +, I hope you're right, future will tell. It could be huge or could be a big failure as well, especially if Amazon enters the game...

I think there's a place for this. Good job Uber. For all the negative press, Uber product really is changing transportation as we know it

Tipping culture is really getting out of control! Waiter gave me ‘a look’ because I tipped her 10% for ‘BAD service!’
Why Uber, though... they don't have some innate edge in this space, or at least not in the 600B space, maybe in some specific corners of it
It's less about who does it, and is more about how ripe a heavily regulated industry is. Similar to taxies.
Uber is the best in the world at building software to dispatch drivers and cars. Are trucks so different? That’s why Uber.
