Hi, I got a coding assessment link from Uber do not reply email id. It said 1 hour interview to test my general backend competencies. Can anyone let me know what to expect? I searched online but there are very few posts that mentioned regarding uber coding assessment. Update: - the questions I got were easy, medium and I think third one might be hard/medium, not sure. - 3 business days after taking assessment, I got contacted by Uber recruiter and currently at scheduling phone interview phase.
So what was it? Standard leetcode stuff? I got a similar email today.
Yes, leetcode type 3 questions, was able to solve 2 and time up while solving 3rd one. The assessment is proctored - meaning they have access to your webcam, microphone and your screen will be shared. Also, you have show photo id to webcam to begin the test.
Thanks. For a test preceding a phone screen, that's just ridiculous. I'll pass.
Can I know how hard are they?
Op , u got results ?
Have you received the invitation?
Updated the information in question.
Got all the three questions right in an hour?
I solved 2. Was halfway into 3rd one and time up. They might’ve understood my approach for 3rd one from the code I did so far.
Do you think those are leetcode questions ?
Not directly from leetcode. But the thought process from practice helps.
Thanks
So this was a hackerrank style test was it? And youd have to do a phone interview after the online assessment .. and then onsites? Damn

Tipping culture is really getting out of control! Waiter gave me ‘a look’ because I tipped her 10% for ‘BAD service!’
I’m guessing standard Leetcode? No idea how that will test “general backend competencies” though. Maybe recruiter trying to sound fancy.
It’s not from recruiter. It came from do-not-reply@Uber email id
Probably standard Leetcode stuff. Time to start grinding. Also if you make it to onsite there will be an architecture/design portion, CTCI is good for that (and probably Leetcode too). Good luck.
