Expecting an offer from Uber for L5A backend role. What would be a fair TC expectation? I see levels.fyi has a wide range b/w 320k and 480k. Current TC: 300k Yoe: 5
Minimum 400k and maximum 450k for L5a. This is to account for severe exodus of talent and drop of tech bar in the past year. Top of band SDE2s are getting 350 at the moment for more context. Understand what your getting yourself into however, it’s going to be a tough few years ahead for Uber.
Why is it going to be tough? Profitability is close and stock is on the rise. I thought, moving forward there should be more growth. Stock also bottomed recently.
Any idea about L5b range?
@intuit morale is low. Stock was on the rise before but constant regulatory head winds, and covid really has taken an impact on morale. Investors are also not favoring us compared to competitors. We are close to EBITA profitability and our cashburn is high Tons and tons of attrition. When things for the worse the business tends to do a lot of layoffs....lots of fire and re hire.

@bnEA57 I joined 2 years ago and I'm still there, I am currently working on a new 0-1 project that I normally wouldn't get to lead at most other larger companies. I also joined at 30 something a share and I have racked up refreshers and over achiever bonuses so I am getting paid above my band. Probably significantly more than I could fetch elsewhere for the time being.

Lasik cost
I joined recently as 5A, they lowballed me with 380k initially. I had pinterest offer in the same range and after negotiating, got 420k and they do go till 460k but that’s top of the band.
