Uber and Lyft have become fronts for sex work?

I recently moved to the Bay Area and have noticed that some of the Uber drivers here have very suggestive names on their apps. I have also been directly asked by a couple of female drivers and co-passengers if I would like to use their “services”? Is this a systematic thing that’s going in the Bay Area? I wouldn’t be surprised if it was because the Bay Area is a cesspool filled with single and sex deprived men with money and Uber is a great way to facilitate door to door “services”. Not taking a moral stance against sex work here but wtf..

Sure you don’t work for Lyft?

No, let me add Lyft to title because it happened with Lyft as well

Is this a troll? I’ve never had this happen to me once

I hope I was trolling.

You don’t get to pick who your driver is, so this seems like an incredibly low-success way of getting clients.

Lucky you

That is shooting in the dark. The driver has no control over who gets matched

Right, but in a region filled with young men, 1 successful hit a couple of days isn’t unimaginable I guess.

So once every couple days they get an extra $50 at the risk of losing their Uber driver privileges. Seems not worth it.

I use Uber very often. I have never seen what you are describing.

What part of the bay do you ride in?

eBay b1!n<| Jul 15, 2019

What part of the bay you see this?

Salesforce Usbj01 Jul 15, 2019

Never seen this across thousands of rides. Doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen, but probably super low probability event.

Really? How come I've never seen this? But for some parts of the world taxi (not Uber usually) drivers are more than happy to recommend and drive you to a place should you ask "where can I have some fun in the city" And they can collect some referral money from that place.
