I currently work for DD but got a strong offer from Uber (my non-tech TC goes from 220k to 300k). I’m trying to figure out if/why Uber Eats is such a badly run business and if I should jump ship. 6 months ago Uber and Postmates had 27% market share. Now they have 26% market share. What is the point of Uber buying Postmates for $2.5B? Nothing changed, if anything they lost a percent? #uber #doordash
Are you in Finance or S&O at DD? Also - how is the culture?
Legal. Love the culture, very few a-holes (none I’ve met), everyone willing to help each other out, and we have amazing leadership.
300k in non tech ! Mind saying whats the role and level?
YOE?
7 YOE in Legal.
DD should share the costs. You will be part of the legal team that files this lawsuit, that's why they are hiring you.
Broke my leg in a car accident on Monday. Yesterday I wanted some snacks. I order from Walgreens using UberEats. I place an order for a few Mexican Cokes and some popcorn. When the order arrives, it is just the plastic bottle of coke. Not that big of a deal, but wasn’t what I ordered. So I click on Help in the app and mention this to support and take a picture of the cokes. Support team comes back and says I ordered what I received and closed the ticket. Yes this is a stupid scenario, nitpicky, but speaks to what I keep seeing from other folks using Uber..service is fucking terrible and then you blame the customer! No fucking wonder you guys are losing market share, you fucking suck.
Oh that is very strange. On the other hand, Doordash customer service is very good. They’d have immediately refunded your order (at least they did that for me when I last used food delivery over a year ago)
Similar experience with Uber eats.. absolutely shitty customer service. I used to own uber stock.. I sold that shit after this incident
lol +/-1 over a short period doesn't mean much for market shares. You need to look at market shares over longer periods of time.
Well by that definition Uber Eats in 2016 went from 27% all the way to 27% in 2021…
Where are you pulling the numbers for 27% market share for Uber eats in 2016?? Given that they only started in 2014 I would be surprised if they captured 27% ms in two months
I used Postmates for their restaurants but it looks like they merged the available restaurants? What a joke because that was the only thing good about Postmates. Getting a refund on Postmates unlimited
That’s just hilarious. Billions down the drain
