They said they cannot start green card process until 6 months of employment. Has anyone heard something like this before? This sucks. Would it be crazy to decline offer for that?
Yea. There are few companies that impose this. Also, think about if they have another layoff it might push the filing date further. *Based on personal experience at Cisco.
It’s a company policy, makes sense if you suck and they don’t want to waste time

Nope! Why does it suck? I know some companies do it from day one but may not pay for premium processing for all of their immigration petitions. Uber does i140 in PP. I would not worry too much since they are very supportive in this case.
Haha PP is like $1000 who cares, it's the question of WHEN
When a company wouldn't start my green card, it's not a question of " when", it's a question of "how dare you not start my green card processing"
Yes. 3 months for AMD
When a company wouldn't start my green card, it's not a question of " when", it's a question of "how dare you not start my green card processing". It's not something I am going to talk about, I would hang up the phone if the recruiter won't promise to start it asap
Why would they start your green card without checking out I’d you are a decent developer and can perform for 2+ years? It costs them money It’s that attitude that makes them distrust you and hold it off
Uber “cannot” start PERM processing due to layoffs in last 6 months
