Already reports of running red light and not understanding bike lanes. Tesla has a head start and seems much more mature. Seems like Uber will be the first to cause a real accident and kill innovation.
It's just Uber being Uber. Be an a$$ h0le to everyone and pick fights with every government agency available.
Uber sucks, hope they keep burning 800mil a quarter.
We will always tell that it's human error and blame the driver. Plausible deniability. Uber's technology nothing more than patching some open source and academical software together and integration with third party hardware. Self driving cars gained attention *coincidetally* right after China defeat. It's about drawing investors attention away from losses.
You are talking about uber - that's what uber wanted :) no matter how low tech the technology is (which is why uber is resisting to authorities) . Whenever news reports about self driving - uber also finds its name - uber just wanted that - do you think uber wanted anything more ?
I've heard from friends at Uber that Otto's technology wasn't as good as it was sold by the Otto team. Curious if you agree with that. Seems like there's a lot of smoke and mirrors generally in the industry right now.
Uber won't be successful because they no longer seem to be a righteous company. That's the key
self driving cars are joke. Tesla auto pilot disclaimers driver needs to be alert and ready to take control in emergancy. emergancy can occur anytime..so driver is technically never relieved of driver responsibility.
The salt here is real
Doesn't matter what we think, the public (and the government) will care when a self driving car kills someone other than the car's driver. It will happen soon, just a question of which company will be responsible?

Horrible Netflix ML interview experience
They got that glorious first post that's all that matters. People don't care about responsibility or how many burned out devs left in your wake.
