So I’m pretty confident I’ll be getting an offer given the feedback from everyone so far...but I have hear UBER tends to be light on base and heavy on RSUs. They said the median for this role is about $150k base but it could be higher...and they typically are heavy on RSUs. How much should I ask for in a counter? Thx!
Whatever you think you are worth of
What level?
It’s finance not technical but more project management
I heard Uber has started to give out offers based on dollar value recently. Number of shares you get depends on when you join (relative to the IPO) and what the 409a value (or average stock price) is at the time. It is difficult to negotiate with them based on my experience since they have an equitable pay policy.

Do you really think Amazon is that bad
Sorry you won't move the needle a meaningful amount on base
Yeah the top end for base is $198 per LinkedIn ( if that’s to be believed?) but recruiters said I would probably be well above the median at $150ish so not too worried...I just want to maximize my pre-IPO Monopoly money in a realistic way. They won’t like rescind the offer if I ask for more RSUs? Wouldn’t they just say no?
Based on my offer, you're not gonna get pre-IPO money unfortunately. Not unless you can start real soon. It'll be $$$ converted to shares when you join. If you're reasonably bearish on uber soon after IPO though, you should still be ok (like if it goes the way of Lyft soon after IPO)
