Just recieved feedback from my Uber onsite. They went through feedback from each interview and at the end said the interview feedback was almost all positive. But they're still waiting for director sign-off. What does this mean in terms of chance of them extending an offer? I don't want to get ahead of myself. How common is it for directors to decide to not go ahead? Im a little unsure of the Uber process behind the scnenes, so I'm not sure whether I'm close to an offer or it's still just as likely to be a no than yes. If they do make an offer, how long do they generally give you to accept? I have an interview booked a week away.
This is standard. It is rare to be rejected at this stage but can still happen.
Thanks, guess there's nothing I can do but hope for the best.
This is the correct answer. There's nothing to be really concerned about.
It could also be you were good enough, but there might be a couple more candidates in the pipe they want to see before making the call.
As others said: not much to worry about. Director sign off is required for almost all hires: directors often double check the team hiring you has the right seniority ratio (not an issue if you are sr or above & if not, teams rarely hire without the right ratio) as well as the justification for the hire. Not seen a reject in my org so far. Usually takes a few days, not more. Good luck!
Thanks! Hoping for good news.
You are fine. Director or above approval is required for nearly all hires.
Congrats on the offer, I hope you join us!
What kind of offer should one expect for a senior engineer (assuming I performed great in all interviews).
Hello - curious what happened. I'm in the same situation.
Did you eventually get the offer?

Best LCOL or MCOL city?
I'm not sure. I got the feedback for each interview individually, obviously they may not be telling the complete story, but they all sounded positive, there were just a few small notes, which they did tell me. You would know better though, so you may be right.
