I have received an offer at Uber and have competing offers at a couple other “tier 1” companies. My Uber recruiter told me that Uber doesn’t negotiate and the offer he puts together for me is their best and final offer, due to pay equality. Is this true? Role: Senior SWE, have competing offers at G/FB TC: $250k, 7 YOE
Tc and yoe?
Just say bye to them. If they really want, they will increase the offer.
Uber knows roughly what comp bracket you're likely in from its data on the industry. So they're pretty confident in the offer they give you. From what I understand, the pay spread within a bracket is tight, hence the "pay equity"
Heyy!! I've recently received offer from Uber for grad role and had this secret strategy in mind, wanna share with you to confirm if this will work or not? I'd highly appreciate if you can give some inputs. :)
🙄
Idk why there continue to be posts w/o TC and YOE. Please edit with the relevant info or gtfo
There you go Tim Apple
Don’t they negotiate on the sign on bonus?
Go to G, Uber is risky to join now. FYI, treat Uber RSU@$33 when comparing offers. Congrats, btw!
The recruiter was not lying. Try to negotiate a $50k sign-on bonus over two years with a competing offer. That's probably their only wiggle room if you are good. Only way you can increase the offer otherwise is to get slotted at a higher level. Ask if you can be evaluated +1 level if there was not enough signal, though 90% of the time there is enough signal. But it's worth it to try.

Tell them you’ll perform at the same level as the lowest performing member of the team due to work equality
What is pay equality?
Something about paying women and men the same ... apparently women get smaller offers than men?
What are you ? 👨? 👩 ?
