Any tips for the Uber onsite interview. I'm interviewing with the Driver team (backend role) in a couple of weeks. What kind of questions are asked in the OOP interview? TC: 150K
Mostly LC medium. Biggest thing is to make sure to eat beforehand. My on-site was 5.5 hours long with no lunch or breaks.
Which location and what level are you being interviewed for?
Cool. I have an upcoming phone interview (Backend ) coming up. Mind sharing the LC level of your phone interview ? Is the interviewer looking for your thoughts or just optimal solution with all test cases pass ? I have a hqckerrank link so I assume the code will be compiled . Any pointers or takeaways from your phone interview ? Thanks and best of luck !
I would say my LC level was medium. I was able to solve it pretty quickly and optimally. Do some of the frequent Uber tagged LC questions and you should be good. Just explain your thought process before you start coding. Usually the interviewer will give you a sign if you are on the right path
Thanks man ! Appreciate it
Mine was a trie based non LC question (would mostly map to LC medium). The interviewer was a treat to talk to - he gave him me hints when I needed a nudge. If the interviewer was looking for a solution alone, I wouldn't be going onsite.
Wow. So special data structures are needed ? Damn
I guess as long as the interview is more collaborative then it works but yeah it can be intimidating seeing such a question
Mostly I can map them to LC medium (medium-hard). None of them were from LC though I think. Some interviewers ask for optimized code that compiles and runs (my first round did). Others were ok with whiteboard or laptop (onsite). I had a very good experience and they provided hints when stuck. I also had a trie question. It's not really an advanced DS and is pretty common for interviwers. I got that for Amazon onsite too. It isn't that difficult and I would encourage you to look at that rather than doing Uber tagged LC. General LC practice helped me. Good luck!
Is that in Palo Alto? I think I interviewed with same team and have documented my experience here: nailthatcodinginterview.com
