Compared to Yelp or doordash or seamless or GrubHub, why should a consumer use UberEats over others? Faster? Better quality food?
Everyone else is subsidizing orders and not sustainably priced. Eats has shifted to a more sustainable cost model
Seamless seems to be have a cult following and has early mover advantage in New York. It would be very very hard to beat it here
DoorDash aren’t saints. They 1. Increase the price of the food items 2. Charge a 11% ‘service fee’ 3. Charge delivery fee.
I don't think they charge higher as price is controlled by restaurants
They do indeed. The restaurant controls the prices on their menus, DoorDash controls the prices on their app/website. It’s a known business tactic used by food delivery services to increase the markup.
In the end I just pick the cheapest on the final cost. I care not about how you go dividing that. It takes less than one minute to check out the price on 2 other apps. If they all end up being too expensive I simply won't order. If you want lower prices, don't give them money when they charge a lot, you are only giving them more confidence to keep going
Make sure you’re including the menu upcharge doordash includes as well as a service fee and then delivery fee when comparing cost
Uber eats keeps giving me free delivery coupons. So I keep using it.
Where do you get those coupons?
I'm getting them directly in the app, for some reason. I didn't do anything special. If I knew what special thing I did, I'd definitely share..
So it looks like someone can make an app to check the cost of all the other apps and order it through the lowest price one 🤣🤣
This is a great idea. An “Expedia” of sorts for ordering food.
Don't think the business model works v well. The delivery fees to cover the costs are too high to make the product viable. There is a need in the market for a platform to deliver food and. Perishables for cheap, but no product satisfies the market on a sustainable way
Use DashPass get free delivery no service fees ... you save a lot ... I am single so I order two meals which cost above 15$ ...
Incorrect, there are still service fees if you have a TrashPass. And hefty menu item markups... find the same restaurant on DD and Grubhub, build your cart, and compare total costs, you’ll be amazed.

Who are you voting for in the 2024 Presidential Election?
Well doordash just passed us by so this turned out to be a bad call.
