That unsettling feeling after resignation and before starting the new job. How to deal with it?

Hi folks,

I gave the first resignation of my career today. Since the morning I have been feeling unsettled, a little anxious about the future. My current job, although low TC, treated me really well, with great WLB, and awesome managers.
Thinking about my next gig, it feels like there is so much uncertainty involved in that. What if the work environment is toxic, how will the next manager be? Thinking of the worse cases that could happen. I know it's not healthy to do it but I can't stop thinking about it. This is a great step up from my current job and instead of feeling excited, I am feeling nervous.

Are these feeling normal? How can I combat those feelings?

Old TC: 85K
New TC: 140K
YOE: 2
New Role: Data Scientist

You move forward. You'll appreciate what ppl mean when they say it's just a job. If you're getting paid 140k, it just means someone else is making 500k off your work or more. Never be loyal to a company unless you have real equity or other interests in them.

This^ in this world there are no free meals. If you are paid $140k someone is making a bigger profit of your work.

Normal to feel nervous about a change. It is ok. Just allow yourself to feel it and in a week it will subside. Nothing is guaranteed in life but no risk no reward.

Include best cases scenarios in your thinking, then take the average of your worst case scenarios and best case scenarios and boom you have what’s probably going to happen.

It’s normal to grieve any change. Like other grief take care of yourself and give yourself time.
