What bets are people making?

For me, I am targeting high risk / high reward scenarios. Specifically, cruise line stocks and oil companies would return a minimum of 4x if they returned to normal levels (at the risk of them going bankrupt). I am expecting this to take between 1-3 years.

    Airlines are going to recover, sure. They're a necessity.

    And yes, long-term the price of oil HAS to go up. It is a finite resource and the Saudis cannot sustain production at this price.

    But do you really think anyone's gonna want to go on a cruise after this is all over? The industry is scarred forever.

    • Think of it this way, most of the cruise tourists are rich old folks. After the pandemic, some of them won't make it, all of them will be less rich. The demand for cruise ship will be much lower.

      The population who dies from covid and overlaps as a cruise tourist will be very low. We are deep in the pandemic now which is why you are feeling that way. I agree with you on the less rich part, it will take years for them to recover

    Lockdown and quarantines will last a long time so many of the Airlines and Cruise companies might not survive.

    FOMO this early is going to wreck so many people. I mean we haven't even had a single quarterly fiscal reporting period yet, then alone started to deal with the manufacturing that has been on hold now and broadening...

      That’s fair, but the market has already crashed 33 percent. I wouldn’t call it β€œthis early” even though I expect it to go down. I am averaging into these long term bets I have
